frequently asked questions

Do I really need a website?

If you have a business, you need a website. Studies show that 92% of all consumers use the internet to research their purchases before they buy. Additionally, a website means you are 'always open' for business. Without a web presence, you are effectively handing over customers to your competitors.  Even if you have no plans to sell merchandise online, it's crucial to have an online counterpart to your bricks-and-mortar business for today's web-savvy consumers.

I already advertise in the Pennysaver. Isn't that enough?

Small businesses have a tendency to spend money on more traditional forms of advertising such as newspaper, Yellow Page ads and television. However, studies show that 50% of consumers turn to the internet first, followed by only 24% for the Yellow Pages, 4% for local newspapers and 1% for television. Given these statistics, it's clear that internet marketing is no longer an 'add-on' service; it's essential. Furthermore, your Pennysaver advertisement only works when people see it. If they miss a week, your ad dollars are lost. Having a website is like having a dedicated staff member on duty 24 hours a day to answer your customer's questions.

Other quotes for websites have been $1500 or more. How can you do this so inexpensively?

Being a lifelong resident of this area and a small business owner myself, I truly have a passion for helping small businesses succeed. There is no reason why the same tools large companies use cannot be made available to the small business owner for a reasonable fee. While the end result is as pleasing and functional as any of those expensive websites, I can do a website for you for much less, and I promise your complete satisfaction.

There are free website builders online. Why shouldn't I just use one of those?

Excellent question, and one we receive more than any other. Good website design entails far more than simply setting up a site. In fact, a poorly-designed website is actually worse than having none at all. Nothing turns potential clients away faster than a frustrating web experience as a result of poor design, missing, incomplete or outdated information, irrelevant pictures, unreadable text or an over-reliance on 'flash' rather than substance. Even acceptable but boring sites may drive customers to competitors who have a better web presence. Attractive design, intuitive lay-out, and readable copy that draws one in make a website truly shine in the eyes of potential clients. Couple that with interactive maps, photos of your product line, and relevant links, and you'll get the most bang for your buck.

But how will my customers find my new website once it's online?

As part of our design package, we employ techniques of SEO (search engine optimization), which uses specific keywords and phrases to target your audience and result in a higher ranking in search enginges. In addition, we will submit your final design to the top three search engines (Google, Yahoo and Bing), and provide a listing on The instant availability and convenience of a website means customers searching for you outside of normal business hours can find exactly what they need when they need it. This translates into happy customers, repeat business and new clients.

I can run a computer, but don't have time to design my own site. How can I save money and get a nice website for my business?

We offer a DIY option, which enables those users with some tech savvy to manage their own website after the initial design. We design the site to your specifications, and then turn it over to you to manage. Most people today have at least some understanding of how to operate a computer; if you have ever written an email, surfed the web or checked your status on Facebook, you can update your own website once given the proper tools. We also offer a maintenance package (after the first year), which includes up to 12 updates to the website per year if you decide you'd prefer to have the updates done by our staff of professionals.

Are there hidden costs?

Our website package includes the actual site design, as well as one year of free hosting and custom domain registration/transfer - a complete package, so to speak (many other web designers will charge additional monies for hosting and domain registration). The only other expense you may incur is nominal charges for graphics that may need to be purchased for your site. We will try, at all times, to keep these expenses to a bare minimum. After the first year, you will be billed for the hosting your website, on an annual basis, the cost of which is around $10/month (depending on the size of your site; price may be subject to change). Be sure to thoroughly review our terms and conditions for website design. Marketing projects are quoted individually based on the nature, size and complexity of the job.

How is payment arranged?

A 50% deposit will be required when the agreement is signed, at which point we will start work on your site. The final payment, to include the 50% of the original contract agreement plus any additional charges, willbe due at the time of the website turnover. For your convenience, we accept Paypal, cash, or company check. If paying by personal check, there will be a delay of 7 days while the check clears. A $30 returned check fee shall also apply.
